Thank you for visiting our custom Art & Design studio. My name is Gerald “Emhotep” Richards, owner and lead artist of Nuwbia Design Studio. I am a professional illustrator, artist, and sculptor based in Decatur, GA, just outside of Atlanta.

I specialize in sculpture and mold making/casting, digital illustration, computer graphics, cartooning and character development, as well as apparel design and screen printing. With over 35 years of experience, I bring a deep level of craftsmanship, creative vision, and technical skill to every project I take on.

I am extremely passionate about art and African culture, and my work is rooted in reflecting the beauty, strength, and positivity of Black culture through powerful visual storytelling.

I am also the artist behind our apparel brand, Nuwbia Apparel, where I merge culture, storytelling, and design into wearable art.

Beyond the art itself, my work is built to serve real outcomes. I partner with authors, entrepreneurs, apparel brands, and collectors to create visuals that do more than look good—they communicate identity, elevate brands, and connect with audiences on a deeper level. With a strong foundation in African culture and years of professional design experience, every project is crafted with intention, cultural depth, and market-ready execution.
